Full Statement

Cnn, Twitter and Drudge are all speculating that Palin is about to announce that she will not seek a second term as Governor of Alaska. My first reaction to the not-quite-news is –

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!! Isn’t it Obama’s MO to drop the horrific news items on Fridays and holiday weekends? She p’owned you B’rak. She mocks you and farts in your general direction.

And then

WTH does that actually mean? When was the .. 2010? So. Is she running for Congress? Oh man that would be sweet. Is there a seat up for grabs?

And later

It says 3 pm for the formal official statement release. What is that? 6 PM Eastern?

and fear

Is she dropping from politics altogether?
HotAir.com has updates

Turned on the tv and – dammit – I said I was not going to watch news today –

Fox News broke from Michael Jackson coverage for a few minutes – well – more than a few minutes. They weren’t covering much before anyway so they probably had nothing written other than “Michael Jackson is STILL dead”. Stuart Varney is talking to her … brother? Should he be talking to the press? He’s saying that she had said she was spending up to 80% of her time to battle ethics attacks and that it wasn’t fair to her staff and family and draining her ability to be Governor. In other words he’s saying she cracked.

You gotta be kidding me.

Thank God Mark Levin is NOT on vacation tonight. His rant should be a thing of beauty on this one.

Update:

Watched the speech. Here’s what I heard.

1. Accomplished a hell of a lot as Governor and has met all her goals and promises.
2. Ethic complaints cost state 2 million dollars. Cost her half a million personally. Money Alaska need for teachers and infrastructure. Opponents will continue to use the state to further their campaign negatively as long as she is governor.

Summation. She fell on her sword to allow the state govt to move on with her agenda. She’s is going to hit the ground running as a private citizen to earn money for her legal bills and she will be free to do and say whateverthehell she pleases from here on out and no one can say Boo to her ass. She was restrained by McCain. She was restrained by the office of Governor. Now? She’s not.

Jesus.H.Christ – an ass whooping is coming for someone – a lot of someones. This is not so much a quitting as an unleashing of the demon.

I am smiling so hard right now, you would not even believe.

She just stood there in front of god and everyone and told the god’s honest truth. That’s what real change looks like. That’s what transparency looks like. That’s what it looks like when a normal person is slam danced by the machine and decides to unchain the shackles and fight back. Those were not the words of a politician. Those were the words of an American – old school. It’s payback time. I.can.not.wait. What a gift on the fourth of July. I’m listening to the pundits and thinking – guys – you just don’t get it. You don’t have the slightest clue. Spin until your heads explode but you will never understand just how disgusted we all are with the BS and the crap called Washington and NY. That speech with the baby fussing and the ducks quacking in the back ground – Sarah’s nerves clearly strung tight as a piano wire – was historic. She’s coming for all of you. You’ve thrown down your best hits and she was held back by the candidacy and the office – but as a private citizen with her popularity and the clear support of middle America behind her – there are no limits.

From the Hot Air comments

The BIG surprise is going to be HOW MANY WOMEN LIKE ME SUPPORT HER. The talking head men are slamming her, even on FOX..they are in for a BIG BIG SHOCK.

They won’t be able to keep her in a box now. This is BRILLIANT!!

.

I think she just did a throwdown to Pelosi-Obama-Reid, and maybe some fat cat GOPers. Hell’s a’comin’. Now is not the time for her supporters to go wobbly,…this may be exactly the spark we need for some reform. Slash and burn, baby!

.

She is unchained from the Obama-supported albatross, the Governorship of Alaska. They can’t go after her over ethics complaints, they can’t demand her itinerary, they can’t demand to know if she paid for lunch, or if Alaksa paid for lunch.
Obama,Romney,Huckabee,& Axelrod just soiled their pants.

Palin has now basically set herself up to be the arbiter of conservatism. At this point, anyone who Palin opposes will get nowhere with conservatives. This is incredible power, and I for one believe she will do the right things with it.

I’m with you, brother. She will redefine the GOP or destroy it from the ground up.

Palin is for real. She is the genuine article. What you see is what you get. She is not speaking empty words from a teleprompter. She is speaking from the heart. She is a woman of honesty and integrity. Her conservative values are those of the majority of Americans. She has shown she can take all the libtard media can throw at her and come through just fine.

Today, I have hope for our country.

President Sarah Palin in 2012!
