Palin is the philosophical descendant of those who created this country’s constitution; Couric and Letterman, on the other hand, like much of the Bi-Coastal Media/Entertainment Left, are more consistent with the self annihilating philosophy of moral relativism. While Palin is intelligent and constant in her views, I make no similar claims specifically about Letterman and Couric, relative to their views. ~Philosophical Divide: Sarah Palin vs. Pop Culture’s Moral Relativists by Michael S. Rulle Jr.
So here’s my question. When someone has a clear idea of right and wrong they are – obviously labled naive at best or stupid – more likely. When someone has absolutely no solid belief system and compares everything and every situation to some other unrelated but similar situation to make the case that no one is ever right and no one is ever wrong – what is that – exactly? Where does that lead a society?
Take Palin and Couric out of it if those examples bother you because the question is more important than those two women. Are you a moral relativist? I’m betting you are and not because you thought it through and decided that was the best of the potential philosophies from which to govern your life. I’m betting you never thought about it and were slowly herded into it by the media. If you are a moral relativist by overt choice then more power to you. I consider you an anarchist and I respect the fact that you at least know what you are doing and saying and what it means. If you’ve fallen into moral relativism because it’s just easier not to “judge” and you can’t stand me because I DO judge and am not afraid to present my views and my reasons for them – risking being wrong in public and ready to debate why with you – then you are philosophically and intellectually lazy and more damaging to this country than cancer.
If you are not clear what moral relativism looks like because you’ve been mired in it so long here’s an example.
“We have been the cowards. Lobbing cruise missiles from two thousand miles away. That’s cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building. Say what you want about it. Not cowardly. You’re right.” ~ Bill Maher
If you found yourself saying, “Yeah. He’s got a point there.” instead of “Holy shit! I can’t believe what he just said.” Then moral relativism has eaten away your guts and replaced them with pudding. Congratulations. you have no concept of right and wrong anymore. I can help you, but only if you are ready to be helped.

Bride,
that type of comment from Bill Maher is normal for America haters. I call it the religion of BAF. The Blame America First. It has many distinguised members in it among them Hillary Clinton, B’rack Obama, All of Hollywood except for maybe 4 or 5 entertainers, THE majority of the MSM, adn most of the Democartic party. They cannot find anything good about America and they blame it for all the ills and evil in the world.
Hence, Chavez is a good guy , Bush is bad. Castro is a good guy, his enemies are bad. In the case of that S.O.B. Bill Maher, Americans are coward for lauching rockets at a long distance, the terrorists are brave for crashing a plane into a building. The possibilities and scenarios are endless. The opnly thing thata beinds these folks together is a complete comtempt for our way of life and our values. But I notice they all make their money here and not overseas. They may hate America but they love making money here.
The whole argument about “judgment” is moronic. When you are walking down a dark street late at night you make a “judgment” not to go down that alley, when you decide not to eat at a restaurant because you saw a cockroach, that’s a judgment, when you decide not to use the public toilet because the bathroom is covered in grime that’s a judgment.
Judgments come from either out of a sense of self preservation for danger, or in listening to our conscience. So people who do not judge are oblivious to danger and have no conscience. Not the kind of pals you want for a long and healthy life.
People who attack you for “being judgemental” are generally after you for your religion. They will point to extremes to yank you inline with their way of thinking. They actually judge all the time, but in the most perverse way imaginable. They judge anyone who stands behind principles and values as intransigent and even militant while they are “Inclusive” and “Compassionate”.
.
They believe that the government – being theoretically impartial – can more fairly distribute charity on behalf of everyone. And yet, the UN is stealing food from starving children in Somalia and selling it on the black market. The UN is also working for the drug cartels in Haiti, taking aid sent there and using it to leverage power rather than to help the poor and dying. And everyone paying attention knows where the Oil for Food aid went. Abdication of your personal responsibility to a government entity to aid those in need is neither inclusive, nor is it compassionate.
.
Life is not fair. Life is a series of tough decisions based on personal beliefs and values. It’s survival at the most basic level. If you turn everything into a specious argument then you abdicate to existence by default. It’s possible to live that way, but it’s no kind of life.
