The “Joke” and the reaction or lack there of …
By the end of the night, Christopher Hitchens was of course the last man (barely) standing, and he had some choice words for the evening’s headlining comedian, Wanda Sykes. “The president should be squirming in his seat. Not smiling,” he said. “The black dyke got it wrong. No one told her the rules.”
~ The Unseen Moments of the WHCA Dinner
Why doesn’t he (Rush) want to respond? Sykes is small potatoes, admittedly, but it’s not Sykes who’s the problem actor here. It’s Obama, for laughing stupidly at material that obnoxious and then having his own press secretary lie to the press corps about how The One supposedly believes it’s no laughing matter. This is as golden an example as you’ll ever have of shameless leftist hypocrisy over demonizing one’s opponents, and all the more so given Obama’s crap about “changing the tone in Washington” during the campaign. And Limbaugh’s going to punt on it? Any insight into what’s going on here, Rush fans? You know his thinking better than I ever will.
We know, because Louis Black says so, that the WH reads and approves the script before the dinner. So. We can safely assume these jokes were not a surprise to President Obama and quite possibly written specificly at the behest of President Obama given his naked hate campaign against conservative talk radio. I seriously doubt anyone was surprised by it.
Many Americans are sick of it. The French probably felt the same way as they watched the aristocrats pile on in Versailles while the country descended into financial chaos. It’s all a joke to these people and there’s just nothing you can say to that, really. I don’t know what is in the water in NY and DC but these people are clearly insane. And. There is no point in arguing with crazy people.

Here’s the thing, it wasn’t even a funny line. I think Rush doesn’t want to give Sykes any more publicity.
While I don’t think Wanda Sykes was funny, her jokes were completely absurd. No-one would ever think that Rush Limbaugh had anything to do with 9/11.
Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, is *not* a comedian. He seriously implies that Obama is a Muslim, and that Obama is out to “punish” “whites” by deliberately putting more black people on higher welfare.
That you can;t tell the difference between these two things… Well, i despair.
And “shameless leftist hypocrisy over demonizing one’s opponents…”
If it’s wrong when the left do it, it’s wrong when the right do it, yeah?
Do I see you condemning Rush Limbaugh for his hateful nonsense which isn’t clearly labeled as stand-up comedy?
As much as I like you, Bride of Rove, you are all bluster.
Well clearly you listen to Rush more than I do. He’s on here from noon to three which is smack in the middle of the work day so I have only ever heard him via YouTube and very rarely during lunch – when I get to take a lunch break. Am I obligated to defend everthing he says because I am a conservative and he is a conservative? When did that rule take effect?
What I DO know for sure is, it isn’t funny wishing for someone to die of Kidney Failure. I happen to know about that demise because someone I love very much is actually dying of kidney failure. It’s not funny.
President Obama is a horses ass for laughing at that “joke”. If karma actually works, Sykes will see that come around for a huge life lesson of her own.
Good to see you back. Sorry about your country melting down. I have many relatives there.
