Last week was just that kind of week for me – you know – the kind of week where more work piles up than you can possibly do in a month and the weekend is now completely shot all to hell. My husband, who is feeling better for the moment, wants to drive down to Marathon for the Seafood festival. I need to get our taxes done. The house needs a good Spring Cleaning. It’s time to tackle the yard weeds.

So. What should I do first?

Blog.

Today I’m going to do a round up of blogs because I’ve completely spaced on all the things that pissed me off this week. Then I’m going to get back on the Puerto Rico thing because statehood? She’s a-coming.

Gateway Pundit has been a lot more expressive in his writing lately and I hope to hell he’s not burning out on this misery Obama keeps heaping on us.

They’re animals.

I have to agree. The Democratic Party has ceased to qualify as human any longer for me. If you are a Democrat you are a Communist and you have no respect for the rule of law and no desire to rule with the consent of the governed. This is tyranny. President “I Won” is insane and we are being ruled by a madman and an asylum of lunatics so far off their meds it’s impossible to tell if they are even aware of what planet they are on. Hang in there Mr. Hoft. Anger is a luxury we can not enjoy until the fight is won.

Take a few hours today and join Ms Yockey in the garden. I’ve never had a lot of success with tomatos here in the Keys. I have every kind of pepper on the back patio imaginable and I have several papaya trees that look promising. Herbs – I gottem. Tomatos? Maybe this year.

Nada de Nada has moved to Miami. I am looking forward to doing lunch as soon as she’s settled into her new digs. I love working in Miami but living there would be weird. I’ve forgotten most of the Spanish I learned in Puerto Rico but I never need it anyway because I am surrounded by bi-lingual friends who understand my blondness.

Ruby Slippers has been blogging all health care all the time of late and her round up is pretty awesome, too. That’s pretty much my one stop shop every day to find out where we stand at the moment. The heartland bloggers may just save the nation.

Althouse – not one of my favorite blogs though I’ve never been able to pinpoint why – comments on Rush losing it over hippies last week. I caught part of that rant and wondered myself what set Rush off like that. I think he’s on the edge like Hoft and trying to hold it together. The madness just wears you down, man. I remember a Leonard Pitts article awhile back – speaking of lunatics – where he laments that we as a nation can no longer agree on what constitutes a “wall” and thus the debate of ideas is so far off line as to be worthless at this point. He was right. I’ve heard several of the talk show hosts tell callers, “There’s no help for you. You are so far gone, I can’t save you from your own ignorance.” And it’s true. The sixties were the undoing of us all. They try to suck you into their reality and it’s exhausting beating them back. Here. Go listen to The Courier from the Last of the Mohican soundtrack. You’ll feel better. Actually just go get the movie and watch it.

Pat is on Spring Break. Envy-hate!

Ahem. Where was I? *Hums “Where the boys are …” innocently*

Electric Venom is dead on about the print papers. I worked for the Miami Herald for five years. I loved every minute of it but they are in deep deep denial. I subscribe to the Herald, the Key’s papers and the Wall Street Journal in print and online. Finding those back room articles in print is like finding gold. I follow some of the most obscure writers. The KeyNoter’s Ryan McCarthy for example who has the keenest sense of irony sometimes and you really need it reporting on things here in the Keys. But the coupons – I love them so. Books on eReaders – good. News online – sad evolution.

Carol and I need to talk about her new Libertarian leanings. While I’m not sure why weed is illegal, the “War on Drugs” was about so much more than prohibition. The things I could tell you …

I have decided that Potluck is sort of like a salon where conversations are all the hell over the place and it helps to know who is who or you are lost. I liked this comment:

Party first, always, with the Party of Death.

Great hangout over lunch even though I can’t always relate. You never know what they are going to talk about over there. Back Yard Conservative brushed on the lunatic Jihad Jane scandals briefly. There’s a topic I can sink into and rant on. The photo of Jihad Jane #2 shows her wearing a ton of makeup with fake blond hair. Does she not understand those are offenses punishable by death in the circles she supports? These people — they don’t play. Women are expendable to them. Morons both of them.

Must read Malkin today. If you missed Levin’s show last night it’s free online atr his website.

Here we have the President of the United States and Congressional leaders actually talking about the possibility of a brazen and open violation of one of the most fundamental aspects of our Constitution and Republic! How we actually make laws!

Let me be as clear as I know how. If this is done, this will create the greatest Constitutional crisis since the Civil War. It would be 100 times worse than Watergate. ~ Mark Levin

Smitty tackles god and politics.

I go to church, not Tea Party protests, to hear preaching. The notions are orthogonal, and should remain so, in the American context.

Conversely, if I was a Progressive, wetting myself at the prospect of a Great Political Awakening, attempting to divide the house of the opposition against itself by any means available would seem a smart tactic.

Did I look up orthogonal? Yes. *hangs head* I did. It was just so startling there in a sentence that had nothing to do with science. As an Engineer I see a word like that and I immediately want to restore it to the correct drawer and container. It works there, though. Nicely jarring to the senses in a weird way.

Patterico — heh. Nice catch. He’s probably not reading it for the coupons like Electric venom.

Hillbuzz – If you are reading this you are the resistance. True dat. Still can’t believe Hillary supporters speak my language. It seems so very wrong to me.

Absolute all-out political war needs to be declared on every Democrat in office if they do not rise up against the madness of their own party and put a stop to this immediately.

A national, coast-to-coast, Resistance needs to form and mobilize in this country, rising up from the Tea Party movement itself and take back this government at the ballot box in November.

Every Democrat, in every district, in every state, needs to be booted from office.

I’m inclined to get rid of a hell of a lot of Republicans as well. Just say’n.

Sigh. I gotta go run errands. I am about to lose an hour that I genuinely need and slacking off is not an option. Have a beautiful Saturday. I should be ranting properly by tomorrow now that I’ve surfed the blogs.
