As I was driving home last night listening to Levin it occured to me that I was not interrested in hearing The Speech. Normally I’m a total sucker for the State of the Union Speech – even when it was Clinton. But now? I just could not get all that worked up about it. Who really cares what the “man who never shuts up” has to say any more? Everything he says is a lie, and not even a well worded and interesting lie. He has no style and there’s no finesse about it. There’s no brain pause as he’s speaking to ask, “Did he just say what I think he said? WTH does that even mean?” Nope. He’s straight up, flat out liar liar pants on fire boring as hell giving a barrel of hair a run for its’ IQ money lying. Even Judge Alito could not contain his disgust when he mouthed the words “Not true” at Obama as he was speaking.
Yeah.
No.
I didn’t watch but there’s no avoiding the next day analysis and gossip as much as I wish I could.
You can analyze what he said last night if you want to but it was meaningless. Ten years from now it may be an interesting ethics exercise to review all the lies and what he actually did behind closed doors, but from a “here and now”, “What the hell is going on?” perspective his words are an informational famine. Anyone pretending to get worked up about anything he said just has far too much time on their hands. There is no “there” there. There is no inspiration, no hope, no guidence, no plan, no example of leadership, no coherent philosophy to ponder as it relates to where we are as a nation and what our place is in the world. He has wiped our slate clean of a soul and as a nation we are all political atheists now under Obama. We believe in nothing this administration represents. We believe no one. We will not be going back to the moon. We will not reward the risk takers, innovators and adventurers among us. We will punish the men and women who generate wealth and jobs in this nation. When this President is done we will no longer stand as a unique experiment among nations and a shining example of the freedom of the individual. He is empty and his words drain us dry. I am done listening to this President.
