I’ll be honest with you. I try like hell to avoid conversations with liberals these days because I don’t understand a word they are saying. Today? I was off guard and got sucked into a global warming discussion that turned into the most bazaar defense of the argument for population control in the history of the concept and I’m going back to the beginnings when eugenics fanatics made the case as a proactive counter-Darwinism tool. For any of you who are not up on history, there was a time when, upon the discovery of evolution, Progressives believed that evolution – a natural process by which species evolve to suit the conditions in which they find themselves in order to survive as a species or sub-species or just to continue to eat and breath for whatever reason – they believed that there was a cure for this messy, natural process. They believed – and still do – that we could select FOR mother nature and circumvent the process of natural selection and do a better job than the controlled chaos that was evolution. They would do this by controlling who could have babies through sterilization, abortion, executions, etc. They identified – and I am talking about Americans, not the Nazis, Americans under Willson and LBJ, who believed we needed to chose FOR the human race and limit with the intent to kill off – eradicate – they indentified the undesirable elements of the population worthy of termination. This would cure crime, hunger, poverty and all of societies other man-made ills. And now it will cure Anthropogenic caused Global Warming.
Now articles are popping up on the left championing the “One Child” Policy for all of Earth.
Follow me here. The belief is – and I’ve said this before – that once they made the connection to the levels of CO2 to the population and realized that both are theoretically rising in tandem, the solution would be obvious to someone who believes that Carbon Dioxide is evil: Reduce the population and you save the planet from AGW.
I’m not going to edit this right now so if there are typos – deal with them. You can look up the Canadian article on the One Child thing on your own. I just want to get this thought out of my head and onto paper.
How the hell do these people square a woman’s right to choose – abortion – with dictating that a woman cannot have a baby without a partner AND she and the official partner can only have one child between them. How do they support both? At what point do they understand that the very definition of freedom, for the mother, the baby, the father who has no say in an abortion or birth of his child — the very definition of freedom of the individual is so perverted by these ideas that it would take a mind twisted into a thousand knots to follow it.
Liberals? Explain it to me? And then explain how you decide who gets permission to reproduce and who doesn’t and how that works, exactly? Explain why you think the government should have this power over you because if you believe in AGW, then you can’t argue against the fact that, in order to reverse the effects of this mythical E.L.E, the world government will have to implement some kind of mass extinction of at least half the human race. This kind of thinking is so bazaar that it has to be a mental illness. It’s lead pipes, internet overload, something.
I suddenly feel like having about five more kids. Honey? Feeling lucky tonight?

John Holdren, our “science czar” is in favor of involuntary sterilization as a means of population control and saving the planet. He recognized that the concept might not be well received by we selfish rubes so he suggested that sterilants be introduced in to the food and water supply. He also had a backup plan of forced abortions for women who fell in to certain categories. Nice guy.

People like you and me – or at least me – thought this was all theory and that they would never ever carry out these abominations. But these people are deadly serious.
I’m looking into the eyes of a childless 30 something woman who – because of her health would, under the system she’s touting, NEVER be allowed to have children because she would most definitely pass her condition on – saying she’s all for this population control idea.
I point out that science will one day allow her the option of having children biologically her own, free of her issues. She definitely wants kids. She doesn’t see population rules applying to her in any way as if she was safe from the rules somehow. I said they would apply to EVERYONE. She said “Well you already HAVE your two so what’s your problem?”
“I want GRANDCHILDREN someday you simple minded little twit!”
I didn’t call her a twit but I thought it. I thought it HARD. And then I dropped $500 at Coldwater Creek for new winter clothes and pretended that everyone around me is not stark staring mad.
