While the rest of the nation is slogging through a subdued holiday season due to the economy and the wars, Mr. and Mrs. Obama are allowing us to live through them vicariously as they host 28 parties and an estimated 50,000 guests this month. Words kind of falter here on this one. What the hell do you say to this kind of in your face arrogance? I’m no class warrior. If someone has earned a good living they deserve to enjoy the benefits. But this piece of shit for a President hasn’t worked a day this year and the things he has casually buried us under have been damaging and disasterous. And now we hear that Michelle, Desiree and Valerie are at each other’s throats over who is the belle of the Whitehouse Ball? Are you fucking KIDDING ME? Who the hell are these squids and why are the American people being punished like this? Is this some kind of life lesson on just how ugly the disease of privilege and entitlement can be?
Well.
Lesson learned, man. God. Don’t let me ever be as big an asshat as these people in the Whitehouse are, and never EVER let me enjoy money I didn’t earn.
Oprah is doing a Holiday Special at the Whitehouse so we – the little people who are paying for this extravagance – can see where our money is going and at least enjoy the tangential glimpse of the wealth currently being sucked out of the next generation.
If this President were doing anything — anything at all — to help this country get back on track and balance the budget and if he supported our military and civil service rather than disdain them as an evil he’d like to ignore — if this man would act as cheer leader in chief for a nation that is in despair and falling deeper into the abyss, and rouse us out of the roiling doubts that plague us as each act of Congress smashes into our solar plexus — I would not begrudge him a moment of respite and revelry during a time when most of us give thanks and remember that there is redemption no matter how far we may fall. But he is a wastrel and a dilettante sucking the life from us one designer dress and one fucking party at a time.
To be fair – they did scale back the Hanukkah celebration. Wouldn’t want to seem TOO ostentatious … I guess. Jerks.
