A friend emailed me about the breast and cervical cancer guideline changes that everyone agrees is the start of rationing but she misses the point as to “Why now?”. So I enlightened her because no one seems to factor in selfish motivations anymore. We are all fixated on the red stain bleeding across our nation and barely noticing the small fact that the rats are still doing what rats always do on a sinking ship. The change in guidelines has got to be a payoff to certain insurance companies in advance to get them to shut the hell up. It saves them money because now they don’t have to cover the tests until women are mostly dead anyway and not as inclined to prolong the misery. You know that companies are racing to cover procedures in Costa Rica and an entire infrastructure is being set up there for the rich who can afford it. The insurance companies are fixing to offer policies with the Costa Rican sweetener to clients who can shell out the extra cash. Capitalism always finds a way. Ok? It’s human nature. The poor will be stuck in their socialist utopian hell and the ruling class will be just fine behind walls and the middle class will work themselves to death trying to keep their heads above water until their kids end up on welfare, sucked into the system. At this point there is no saving the middle class in this country. That’s just a fact. The American Dream is dead.
Moral to that story is – don’t email me unless you are suicidal and need that extra shove.
So.
I need a distraction.
*Surfing the web*
Electric Venom is on a diet. I’m always for getting healthy but she reports that she lost four pounds in a day? Not physically possible. You cannot start off a diet by lying to the scale. The scale knows. She shed some article of clothing or weighed in at a different time of day or something. Shoot for five to ten pounds a month. That’s reasonable and easier to maintain.
I was watching Anthony Bourdain last night in Mexico and it struck me. They seem pretty ok in spite of the massive corruption, and the collapse of the Peso. When your country goes to complete shit people keep cooking stuff. I mean they were eating tripe, brains and guts I couldn’t identify but if you put enough salsa on it anything is edible. This is why we planted a shitload of pepper plants on our back patio.
As I surf further I’ll add links. Right now? Work calls.
Discovered a new blog that I like. A Newly Conservative Lesbian by Cynthia Yockey has a fun piece today. Although I’m starting to feel sorry for Oprah.

deh- I don’t feel suicidal, depressed that everyone is content to wear the blinders, but not suicidal.
Good reply. :D
It’s not blinders so much as morons holding their breath anticipating getting something for nothing. Dickens had it exactly right in A Christmas Carol. Ignorance and Want. The most evil forces on earth.
It was four pounds in FOUR DAYS. Not one. So be careful next time you jump to conclusions and hop on your soapbox, especially if that’s all the exercise you’re getting.
And as for whether my rate of loss is reasonable or not, I’m on a diet prescribed by my doctor. I’ll trust her M.D. over other peoples’ opinions any day, thank you.
:-) Knew that would break the monotony. People on diets are naturally cranky.
Thanks for the distraction.
Did you say I was fat? I think that you did. *eg*
Thank you for the link today! I am adding your blog to my blogroll and I hope you will consider adding mine to yours. (I see you have gardening links — I grow heirloom tomatoes and the photos of tomatoes you see at my blog are ones I have grown!)
Nice to meet you. I have added your link and posted photos of some of my peppers.
